NCAA DII Baseball Championship Program

RAM Nation will hold a reception at the Atlantic Baseball Regional on Wednesday, May 16 at the Comfort Inn (2200 Stacy Drive - Reading PA 19605) at 6 p.m. All Shepherd alumni, friends, and families are invited to join the players and coaches. Food and beverages will be provided by RAM Nation.

Senior first baseman Nathan Minnich (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro Area Sr.), senior relief pitcher Andrew Gallant (Oak Ridge, NJ/Jefferson Twp.), and sophomore pitcher Paul Hvozdovic (Herndon, VA/Herndon) were first team selections, while senior designated hitter Nash Hutter (Sunland, CA/Verdugo Hills/Glendale CC) and junior second baseman Chad Murphy (North Olmsted, OH/North Olmsted) were second team choices.

Senior first baseman Nathan Minnich (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro Area Sr.) of the Shepherd University baseball team was named a semifinalist for the 2012 Tino Martinez Award by College Baseball Lineup today. The award is presented to the most outstanding player in DII college baseball. The annual honor is named after the former University of Tampa Spartan, United States Olympian, first round draft pick and MLB All-Star, Tino Martinez.

The Shepherd University baseball team is ranked eighth in the latest NCAA II Atlantic Region Poll. Shepherd is one of two WVIAC teams listed in the poll.

Shepherd University head softball coach Leslie Lopez recently announced that Shepherd University will be hosting a Nike Softball Camp on June 24-27. This is the second consecutive year Shepherd has hosted this camp.

Former Shepherd University tight end Dominique Jones recently signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Jones has played in the UFL and the Indoor Football League since leaving Shepherd.

Shepherd University head softball coach Leslie Lopez announced today that Shepherd will be hosting the Junior Day Prospect Camp, Showcase & Recruiting Education Seminar. Junior Day is for 2013 and 2014 high school graduates who are interested in playing intercollegiate softball. The one-day event will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Shepherd's softball field. The Butcher Center will be used in case of inclement weather as the event will be held rain or shine. Junior Day is strictly limited to 64 high school softball players.
