Sophomore guard Melissa Furr (Herndon, VA/Chantilly) scored 14 points and sophomore guard Katie Biggs (Sykesville, MD/Glenelg) added 13 to lead Shepherd University to a 79-66 win over Bluefield State in WVIAC women’s basketball action at the Butcher Center on Thursday night.

SHEPHERD-CONCORD BASKETBALL DOUBLEHEADER MOVED TO FRIDAY NIGHT (2-4-2010)

The Shepherd-Concord basketball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Friday night. The women’s game will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the men’s contest at 8 p.m. The game has been moved up a day due to the impending major snowstorm expected to hit the region.

The Shepherd University Athletic Hall of Fame will induct five new members this fall at the annual induction banquet on Friday, September 19 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Shepherdstown. The quintet will also be honored at the Shepherd-Fairmont State football game on Saturday, September 20 as part of Hall of Fame Weekend festivities.
