2012: Appeared in 20 games with 17 starts. Earned First Team All-WVIAC as he posted a 10-4 mark with a 2.57 ERA. Fanned 81 in 108.2 innings. Also gained Second Team All-Region honors from NCBWA, ABCA/Rawlings, and Daktronics. His 10 wins tied a Shepherd season mark while his 17 starts set a new season record. Had two complete games and a pair of saves.
2011: Appeared in 16 games with nine starts. Posted a 3-4 mark with an 8.06 ERA. Had a team high three complete games. Recorded team-bests of 41 strikeouts in 48 innings.
Prior to Shepherd: A 2010 graduate of Herndon High School where he played baseball for Greg Miller. Lettered two years in baseball and three years in wrestling.
Personal: The son of John Hvozdovic and Sarah McGuire. His sister, Marra, played softball at Virginia Tech. Majoring in business administration. |
