VIENNA, W.Va. – Shepherd University recorded a 3-2 victory over Ohio Valley in WVIAC volleyball action at Ohio Valley on Friday night. The Rams posted a 25-12, 21-25, 25-27, 25-17, 15-7 triumph.

Junior middle hitter Meg Kenny (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had 15 kills and a .476 attack percentage to pace the Rams. Junior outside hitter Kayla Walker (Palmyra, VA/Fluvanna County) added 12 kills, 12 digs, and nine aces.

Junior outside hitter Melani Lewis (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood) recorded 12 kills and nine digs, while sophomore setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, MD/Smithsburg) had 34 assists and 12 digs. Senior Lauren Gardner (Clarkston, MI/Clarkston) contributed a team-high 23 digs.

Felicia Zartman had 15 kills and Amanda Weatherwax added 13 to lead the Fighting Scots.

Shepherd improves to 6-14 overall, 2-6 in conference play, while Ohio Valley falls to 3-23, 1-9. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 3 p.m. match.
