SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to Pitt-Johnstown in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday night. The Lady Cats earned a 25-23, 25-12, 25-21 victory.
Senior outside hitter/libero Kasey Mercier (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales Academy) had seven kills and 14 digs, while junior middle hitter Meg Kenny (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) added eight kills and four blocks to lead the Rams.
Kelsey Shanabrook had 14 kills and Karen Schmidt posted 13 digs to lead the Lady Cats.
Shepherd falls to 5-14 overall, 1-6 in conference play, while Pitt-Johnstown improves to 12-6, 5-4. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Ohio Valley for a 7 p.m. match.
