SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 2-0 decision to West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC women's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday.
Cris Eddy scored on a feed from Jessica Hong at the 24:35 mark to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
West Virginia Wesleyan scored an insurance goal at the 44:31 mark on an unassisted tally by Olivia Peduzzi.
Wesleyan had a 13-9 advantage in shots while Shepherd had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Wise (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) recorded eight saves for the Rams, while Laura Duncan had four saves for the Bobcats.
Shepherd falls to 3-7-3, 2-3-2 in conference play, while West Virginia Wesleyan improves to 7-4-3, 5-2-1. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Charleston for a 5 p.m. contest.
