CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a four-game match Charleston in WVIAC volleyball action at Charleston on Saturday. The Golden Eagles earned a 25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 25-21 win.
Sophomore right side Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, OH/Willoughby South) recorded 15 kills and 12 digs to lead the Rams. Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Wilkins (Winchester, VA/Sherando) had 10 kills, while senior setter Sara Michael (Winchester, VA/James Wood/Hagerstown CC) contributed 26 assists. Senior Lauren Gardner (Clarkston, MI/Clarkston) added a match-high 16 digs for the Rams. Victoria Severo and Malleri Hardison each had 12 kills to pace the Golden Eagles. Kelsey Eby added 43 assists and 13 digs.
Shepherd falls to 5-13 overall, 1-4 in conference play, while Charleston improves to 9-12, 4-3. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Pitt-Johnstown for a 7 p.m. match.
