SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 3-0 decision to Indiana University of Pennsylvania in volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Tuesday. The Crimson Hawks took a 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 victory.
Junior outside hitter Melani Lewis (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood) had 10 kills and sophomore right side Valerie Bour (Willoughby Hills, OH/Willoughby South) added nine to lead the Rams. Junior middle hitter Meg Kenny (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had eight kills and a pair of aces, while sophomore setter Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, MD/Smithsburg) had 23 assists.
Morgan Cerveny had seven kills and Ericka Lentz posted 11 digs to lead IUP.
Shepherd falls to 5-11 overall, while Indiana (Pa.) improves to 7-11, 2-2. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to West Virginia State for a 7 p.m. match.
