SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University dropped a 2-0 decision to Alderson-Broaddus in WVIAC women's soccer action at Shepherd on Monday.
Sarah Holmes scored an unassisted tally at the 25:27 mark to give the Battlers a 1-0 lead at intermission.
Brooke Hunsaker added an unassisted tally at the 73:57 mark to give Alderson-Broaddus an insurance goal.
Shepherd had a 13-11 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Wise (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) recorded three saves for the Rams, while Kate Laird had four saves for the Battlers.
Shepherd falls to 3-6-3, 2-2-2 in conference play, while Alderson-Broaddus improves to 8-3-1, 5-1-0. The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for an 11 a.m. contest.
