CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Dillon King scored on a header at the 94:38 mark to lift Cedarville to a 2-1 overtime win over Shepherd University in men’s soccer action at Cedarville on Thursday.
Cedarville took a 1-0 when Zachary Harris scored on a feed from Connor Scott at the 3:59 mark.
Shepherd tied the game at 1-1 when senior forward Shane Lowery (Boonsboro, MD/Boonsboro) scored on a header with an assist from junior midfielder Griffin Frazier (Prince Frederick, MD/Calvert).
Cedarville had a 15-9 advantage in shots and a 7-6 edge in corner kicks.
Freshmen goalkeepers Dan Cericola (Berlin, MD/Stephen Decatur) (2) and Alex Aleshire (Hagerstown, MD/Willliamsport) (1) combined for three saves for the Rams. Ethan Dewhurst had three saves for the Yellow Jackets.
Shepherd falls to 3-6-1, while Cedarville improves to 9-1-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Seton Hill for a 3 p.m. conference matchup.
