CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Junior forward Kevin Doyle (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) scored on assists from sophomore midfielder Fernand Feukeu (Germantown, MD/Clarksburg) and senior forward Shane Lowery (Boonsboro, MD/Boonsboro) at the 4:47 mark to lift Shepherd University to a 1-0 win over #16 California University of Pennsylvania in men’s soccer action at the Cal U Soccer Facility on Sunday night.
Cal had an 11-6 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
Freshman goalkeeper Alex Aleshire (Hagerstown, MD/Willliamsport) had four saves as he posted his second shutout effort of the week . Shane Donovan had three saves for the Vulcans. Shepherd improves to 1-0-1, while California (Pa.) falls to 1-1-0. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host West Chester for a 4:30 contest.
