SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University dropped a 1-0 decision to Ursuline College in women's soccer action at Shepherd on Friday in the season opener for both schools.
Taylor MacIver scored on a feed from Heather Beachy at the 30:48 mark for the game’s lone tally.
The Arrows had a 13-6 shots advantage and a 1-0 edge in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Wise (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) recorded one save for the Rams, while Rachel Smith had a pair of saves for Ursuline. Shepherd falls to 0-1-0, while Ursuline improves to 1-0-0. The Rams return to action on September 8 when they travel to Gannon for a 1 p.m. contest.
