SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University and Lock Haven battled to a scoreless tie in men’s soccer action at Shepherd on Thursday afternoon in the season opener for both schools.
Shepherd had a 15-8 advantage in shots and an 8-6 edge in corner kicks.
Freshman goalkeeper Alex Aleshire (Hagerstown, MD/Willliamsport) had four saves in a shutout effort in his collegiate debut. Chris Frederick had seven saves for the Bald Eagles.
Shepherd opens the season at 0-0-1, while Lock Haven is also 0-0-1. The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to California (Pa.) for a 6 p.m. contest.
