SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University department of athletics invites you to come out and show your appreciation for Shepherd baseball standout Nathan Minnich and his achievements as a Ram.
The Hagerstown Suns will be hosting Nathan Minnich Night on Wednesday, June 6 at Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown, MD with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm. Minnich, a 2012 Shepherd graduate, recently completed his playing days following a stellar four-year career that included a pair of conference championships, the latest coming in his senior year. Individually, he had many accolades over his career, but his senior year has proven to be quite possibly the most decorated season of any Shepherd University student -athlete.
Minnich, has been named NCAA Division II National Player of the Year by four awarding agencies. He has been named 2012 Player of the year by d2baseballnews.com, Daktronics, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), and Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). He still awaits word on Monday’s announcement of the Tino Martinez award, given to the most outstanding NCAA Division II baseball player. Minnich also awaits word on the First Year Major League draft which commences on June 4 and finishes on June 6.
Minnich, will be honored in a pregame ceremony by the Suns and will be made available for autographs.
