SHEPHERD BASEBALL FALLS TO #13 WEST CHESTER AT ATLANTIC REGIONAL (5-17-2012)
WEST LAWN, Pa. – Jordan Lehman tossed a complete game one-hitter to lead #13 West Chester to a 4-0 win over Shepherd University in NCAA II Atlantic Regional Baseball Tournament action at Owls Field at Ted Palka Park on Thursday afternoon.
West Chester took a 3-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Reid Pulford led off with a single and late scored on an infield error while Chris Pula and Justin Lamborn each drove in a run to key the rally.
The Golden Rams added an insurance run in the fifth behind an RBI-double from Pula.
Shepherd’s lone hit came in the first inning when sophomore outfielder Michael Lott (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge) led off the game with a single to left field .
Jack Provine and Pula each had a pair of hits for the Golden Rams.
Sophomore Paul Hvozdovic (Herndon, VA/Herndon) (7.0 IP, 1 K, 2 BB, 2 ER) took the loss for the Rams to drop to 10-4. Lehman fanned four and walked four for West Chester to improve to 5-2. Shepherd falls to 30-21, while West Chester improves to 38-10. The Rams return to action on Friday when they face Winston-Salem at 11 a.m.
