PRINCETON, W. Va. -- Sophomore defensive back Corey Washington (Alexandria, VA/Edison) of the Shepherd University football team was named WVIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his superb play in Shepherd's win over Charleston on Saturday.  

Washington was involved in three takeaways as Shepherd remained unbeaten with a 28-13 road win at Charleston. He forced a pair of fumbles, recovered a fumble, and picked off a pass as the Ram defense forced five turnovers. He also racked up 10 tackles, including one for loss.
