SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Big Horn Club Corporate Challenge Golf Tournament was recently held on Monday, August 23 at Cress Creek. It was a great day for Shepherd Basketball as $9,400 was raised for the Shepherd Men’s Basketball Scholarship Fund. We thank all of the participants for making the day a huge success.

One individual deserves special recognition, the chair of the Big Horn Club, Mr. Hank Walter. He is the driving force behind this tournament and a big reason why it is such a successful event for our program.

 

The winning corporation was Parsons Ford, which consisted of Fred Parsons, Kirk Waldeck, Lou Tiano, and Keith McCall. The winning foursome received four season tickets, four tickets to the spring awards banquet, a basketball signed by the 2010-2011 Rams, four golf polos, four gift certificates to the pro shop at Cress Creek, and the name Parsons Ford on a banner to be hung in the Butcher Center this season. The winning team will be presented with the Big Horn Trophy during our Mid-Season reception on Saturday, February 12. The reception will begin after our 4pm game against West Virginia Wesleyan. 

 

The second place finisher was Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, which consisted of Tripp Lowe, Ken Lowe, Chaz Schultz, and Jim Tierney. They received two season tickets, two tickets to the spring awards banquet, and four gift certificates to the pro shop at Cress Creek.
