SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University downed Pitt Johnstown 23-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-13 in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Wednesday night.
Sophomore middle hitter Amanda Hall (Virginia Beach, VA/Cox) had 17 kills and 11 digs to pace the Rams. Senior setter Jane Thompson (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills) added 46 assists, junior libero Julie Robertson (Glen Allen, VA/Hermitage) had 26 digs, while freshman outside hitter Lauren Gardner (Clarkston, MI/Clarkston) recorded nine kills and 14 digs.
Shepherd moves to 5-6 overall, 1-0 in conference play, while Pitt Johnstown falls to 1-6, 0-1. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. match.
Jane Thompson had 46 assists for the Rams.
