SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. – Tyler Phillips scored a pair of goals to lead Bloomsburg to a 2-0 win over Shepherd University in men’s soccer action at Shepherd on Tuesday afternoon. Shepherd falls to 3-3, while Bloomsburg improves to 3-1-2.
Phillips scored at the 13:21 mark on a feed from Bryce Shaffer to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead at the half.
Bloomsburg added an insurance goal in the second half at the 61:59 mark when Phillips scored again on an assist from Shaffer.
Shepherd had a 12-to-6 shots advantage and a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeeper Edgar Lopez Zuniga (Rockville, MD/Richard Montgomery) had three saves for the Rams, while David Leiendecker tallied seven saves for the Huskies.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Seton Hill for a 2 p.m. contest.
