BUCKHANNON, W. Va. – Joe Johns scored on a feed from Joe Ferraracci at 92:16 mark to lift West Virginia Wesleyan to a 2-1 overtime win over #25 Shepherd University in men’s soccer action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead at the 22:04 mark when Brett Fackenthal scored on a feed from Johns.
The Rams tied the game at 1-all at the 39:09 mark on an unassisted tally off the foot of senior defender Kevin Poland (Olney, MD/ Sherwood).
Sophomore goalkeeper Edgar Lopez Zuniga (Rockville, MD/Richard Montgomery) had six saves for the Rams, while Andrew Baldasare had seven for the Bobcats.
Wesleyan (1-2, 1-0 WVIAC) held a 17-to-14 shots advantage and an 8-to-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams (2-1, 0-1 WVIAC) return to action on Tuesday when they host Tiffin for a 3:30 p.m. contest in the home opener.
