The Shepherd University cheerleading team cheer at home football games as well as men and women's basketball games. Cheerleaders must be full time students at Shepherd University and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.

The Shepherd University Cheerleaders spend many hours a week practicing, conditioning, volunteering, doing community service, and attending several events on campus. At the beginning of the season the cheerleaders attend camps hosted by Cheer Tech as well as host cheerleading camps for the surrounding community. In February, the cheerleaders host a two day competition at Shepherd University.
