The Shepherd University men’s golf team shot a two-round total of 668 to place 12th at The Challenge at Mystic Rock at Mystic Rock Golf Course. Concord shot a 611 to take team honors, while Sebastian Bendsen fired a 143 to take medalist honors.

Bluefield State won a tiebreaker with Davis & Elkins to take the team title with a 630. Mark Pritt of Ohio Valley fired a 151 to take individual honors.

NCAA ADDS MOUNTAIN EAST CONFERENCE AS NEWEST DIVISION II LEAGUE (2-15-2013)
 The Mountain East Conference (MEC) announced today that its application for membership has been approved by the NCAA Division II Membership Committee. The MEC will officially become the 25th NCAA Division II conference on Sept. 1, 2013 and immediately assumes active status.

MOUNTAIN EAST CONFERENCE FILES WITH NCAA (12-4-2012)
The 12 institutions that announced the formation of the Mountain East Conference in August have officially applied for approval to begin competing as the NCAA’s newest Division II conference in 2013-14. The MEC’s formal application, signed by the presidents of all 12 institutions, was hand-delivered to NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis on Friday along with all supporting documentation.

The Shepherd University golf team placed fith out of 15 teams at the 2006 Hal Hansen Invitational Golf Tournament on Monday. Host Clarion earned team honors and Clarion's Justin Scott took medalist honors in a 4-man playoff to lead the Golden Eagles.

Shepherd Golf Places Ninth at Burger King/OVU Invitational
Shepherd University finished ninth with a two-day total of 609 in the season-opening Burger King/Ohio Valley University Invitational. Indiana (PA) carded a four-under team total of 575 to claim team honors.
