The Shepherd University baseball team has been chosen to finish second in the WVIAC Northern Division in the annual WVIAC Coaches' Poll. Southern Division archrivals West Virginia State and Concord are the most popular choices to claim the 2009 WVIAC baseball title. Defending champion West Virginia State earned six votes to win the conference overall title, while Concord grabbed three first place nods.

SHEPHERD RANKED 10TH IN NCBWA PRESEASON REGIONAL POLL (2-2-2009)
The Shepherd University baseball team is ranked 10th in the 2009 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason Division II Atlantic Regional Poll. Shepherd is one of four WVIAC teams listed in the poll. The Rams posted a 29-21 overall mark in 2008 and will open the 2009 campaign on Feb. 13 at Armstrong Atlantic.
