SHEPHERD BASEBALL HEADED TO REGIONALS (5-13-2012)
INDIANAPOLIS - Fifth-seeded Shepherd University will face second-seeded West Chester in the first round of the NCAA II Atlantic Baseball Regionals on Thursday.
Kutztown will host the tournament at Owl Field at Ted Palka Park in West Lawn, PA beginning on Thursday. Game times for the first round games will be announced on Monday. Owls Field is comprised of elevated terraces on both the right and left field lines, which is designed for “lawn chair” viewing. Owls Field is welcoming to left-handed batters with dimensions down the right field line at 305 feet. The field is 360 feet in left field, 385 in left-center, 415 in center and 375 in right-center.
The winner of the Atlantic Regional will advance to the 2012 NCAA Division II Baseball Championships, hosted by Mount Olive at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC.
